Bruce A. Last is a Senior Attorney at Burrey Law Group, where his practice focuses on estate planning, trust administration, probate, and trust and estate litigation. With more than two decades of legal experience, Bruce advises individuals, families, fiduciaries, and beneficiaries on sophisticated estate and trust matters, combining technical expertise with practical, client-focused counsel.

Before joining Burrey Law Group, Bruce served as a Content Attorney with Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB), where he authored and managed legal publications, practice guides, daily legal news, and educational resources relied upon by California attorneys. He also coordinated CEB’s annual Estate Planning Institute in conjunction with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), helping shape continuing legal education for estate planning practitioners throughout California.

Prior to CEB, Bruce spent nearly 18 years in private practice concentrating on estate planning, probate administration, trust administration, and fiduciary representation. He practiced with The Jellins Group in Menlo Park before establishing his own estate and trust practice serving clients throughout Contra Costa County and the greater Bay Area.

A Lamorinda native and graduate of Acalanes High School, Bruce earned his Bachelor of Arts from San Francisco State University and his Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. He has been licensed to practice law in California since 2004.

Bruce is an active contributor to California’s trusts and estates community. He serves as a volunteer on TEXCOM’s Litigation Subcommittee, has lectured on estate planning and trust law for continuing legal education programs, and previously volunteered with Contra Costa Senior Legal Services, where he led its wills clinic serving local seniors.

Outside the practice of law, Bruce previously worked as a professional live sound engineer for Bay Area bands and venues, interned at The Plant Recording Studios in Sausalito, and served as Technical Director for Audio Visual Services at the Fairmont San Jose—a unique background that reflects the creativity, precision, and problem-solving approach he brings to his legal practice.
