We are seeking a highly organized and meticulous Attorney to join our team, focusing on estate planning and administration. In this vital role, you will be a true business partner to our firm’s CEO, providing comprehensive support to our estate planning and administration practice. Your work will be critical to the firm’s success and will directly impact our ability to deliver a remarkable client experience. You will be responsible for creating specific, quantifiable value by drafting and executing estate plans, and ensuring the smooth and efficient administration of trusts and estates.

Key Objectives

A successful Estate Planning and Administration Attorney will achieve the following objectives, ranked in order of priority:

  • Draft a wide range of legal documents, including trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and deeds, ensuring all documents are prepared with a meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of autonomy.
  • Provide direct counsel to clients on estate planning and trust administration, developing tailored strategies to meet their unique needs and goals.
  • Manage all aspects of trust and probate administration, including preparing and filing court documents, managing client communication, and tracking deadlines to ensure cases progress efficiently.
  • Assist with conservatorships and guardianships, including drafting necessary documents and managing case-specific administrative tasks.
  • Represent clients in court appearances, including hearings, case management conferences, and other matters related to administration.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure the seamless execution of client services and internal processes.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex trust and estate issues, applying legal principles to develop sound client strategies.
  • Manage case files with a high degree of autonomy, ensuring deadlines are met and cases progress efficiently toward completion.
Competencies

The ideal candidate will bring the following competencies to the Burrey Law Group to achieve their objectives:

Education & Experience
  • Required:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an attorney in a trust and estate planning and/or administration practice.
  • Preferred (A Plus, Not Required):
  • Experience with a high networth estate planning and trust administration practice.
  • Experience with conservatorship or guardianship matters.
